Two cookies, and only if you agree

Until 3 August 2026 this page was titled “There are no cookies” and that was accurate. Google Analytics has since been added, so there are now two, and they are set only if you accept. Everything else here is unchanged: seven small preference values kept in your own browser, sent nowhere, erasable below.
Why you get asked at all now
Under PECR, consent is needed for storage that is not strictly necessary for a service you asked for. Remembering that you chose dark mode, or closed a prompt and would rather not see it again, is that kind of necessary and needs no permission. Counting your visit is not, and does.
So the notice asks a real question with two equal buttons, rather than presenting a coloured Accept beside a grey link. Neither cookie is set until you accept. Google’s script does load beforehand and registers that a page was viewed, without an identifier and without storing anything on your device. Decline and it stays that way permanently.

Advertising, remarketing and personalisation are refused in the configuration whatever you choose, so accepting measurement is never read as accepting ad targeting. Turning analytics off below deletes both cookies straight away rather than leaving them to expire.

Session storage is discarded when you close the tab. Local storage persists until you clear it.
Change or erase it
Opens the same panel as the footer link. The analytics toggle takes effect at once, in both directions. Forgetting everything removes all seven keys and both Google cookies, after which the site behaves exactly as it would for someone who had never been here.
Your browser can do the same thing from its own site settings, and blocking storage entirely does not break anything here. You simply lose the preferences.
If anything else changes
This page previously promised that if analytics were ever added it would be named here, off by default, and behind a real answer. That promise came due on 3 August 2026 and this is it being kept. Anything further gets the same treatment, named before it ships rather than after somebody notices.
