Point your existing products at the new one
Traffic you already own is the cheapest launch channel available, so put the new thing in front of it. Cory Zue cross-promoted from his other projects during a growth sprint, and Peter Steinberger lists every sibling tool inside each launch post so one announcement carries the portfolio. Ryan Hoover measured the other outcome.
Where this splits
Ryan Hoover's post-mortem describes pushing one product's audience at a second property as cannibalising the first, while Zue and Steinberger treat the same traffic as free distribution.

Launch the new product into your existing traffic
- 01Cross-promote a newly launched product from the other products you already own, since their traffic is already yours.
- 02Release a family of small single-purpose tools and list the siblings inside each launch post, so every announcement carries the rest of the portfolio with it.
Cross promotion cannibalises the audience you already have
Do not launch a second product off the first one's traffic. You end up splitting one audience across two properties and struggling to retain either.
What it returned
- 30
Cross-promoting Pegasus from his other projects was one of the concrete wins Zue logged during a 30-day growth challenge, alongside demo videos, buyer decision content, live chat and email campaigns.
- 100,000
Sip was grown by pushing Product Hunt's own traffic and platform at it, which its founder describes in his post mortem as cannibalising their own audience. Sip passed 100,000 unique monthly users and was quietly discontinued in early 2019.

Three plays a week, for the phase you are in
No roundup of links, no news. Three tactics more than one builder arrived at separately, with the numbers each one returned and the disagreements left in.
