2 builders who never spoke to each other

Find the stuck rather than persuade the unwilling

If closing somebody takes hard persuasion they were not self-motivated and you do not have demand. When you built the thing yourself, selling is locating people with the problem and telling them you can help, which is also the answer to feeling grubby about it.

The method

  1. 01

The upside of selling to businesses is that solving a live problem is itself the close, with no further persuasion needed.

  2. 02

Use the felt weight of acquiring one customer as your signal: if closing someone takes hard persuasion, they aren't self-motivated and you don't have demand.

  3. 03

When you built the thing yourself, selling is just locating the people who are stuck and telling them you can help - the sleaze comes from selling someone else's product you have no stake in.

  4. 04

If steering small talk toward a sale feels grubby, fix the belief rather than the script: you are offering something people are already willing to pay for.
