2 builders who never spoke to each other
Put the outputs you control on the dashboard
Count the things you decide to do, articles written, episodes recorded, products shipped, rather than refreshing the income figure you do not control. A year of individually trivial units adds up to a body of work that no single month made visible.
The method
- 01
Track the outputs you control on a dashboard, such as articles written, videos published and products shipped, rather than watching the income figure.
- 02
Count output in units per year rather than per launch - dozens of newsletters, posts, episodes and meetups add up to a body of work that individually felt trivial.
What it returned
- 2014
Justin's 2014 tally: 68 newsletters, 26 blog posts, 21 episodes of his show, a dozen local meetups, seven videos, four products and three webinars.
He built a progress dashboard for those three counts for October.
