a single source, nothing corroborates it
Skip the logo, the video and the brand work
Identity work feels like progress and buys nothing while you are still recruiting customers by hand, because those people already know who you are. Plain type in a free webfont clears the only bar that matters early on, which is looking trustworthy enough for a stranger to enter card details. Brand starts earning when the website becomes the first contact.
The method
- 01
Do not commission a logo for launch; use plain text in a free webfont unless you happen to be a designer who can produce one in minutes.
- 02
Do not pay anyone to produce a narrated explainer video before launch.
- 03
Branding only earns its keep when a stranger's first contact is your website, so while you are recruiting customers by hand the site only has to look trustworthy enough for someone to type in card details.
What it returned

No roundup of links, no news. Three tactics more than one builder arrived at separately, with the numbers each one returned and the disagreements left in.
