2 builders who never spoke to each other
Read your search data as a product roadmap
Find the article that already sends you customers and industrialise it. Better still, look at the terms bringing people in and build the feature those searchers are asking for, or promote the feature that is quietly converting them but appears nowhere on your homepage. Where a page ranks for a term you never targeted, treat the accident as a live test and rebuild it deliberately.
The method
- 01
Look at which existing article already sends you customers, and then industrialize it: choose a topic your buyers search, write the best page on the internet about it, get it ranked, repeat.
- 02
Check which search terms already bring people to your site and build the feature those searchers are asking for.
- 03
If a page starts ranking for a term you never targeted, treat that accident as a live testbed and rebuild it deliberately around the keyword.
- 04
Do not write off a page because its traffic is small; audit per-page earnings before deciding what to deprioritize.
- 05
When revenue data shows one feature quietly converting searchers, invest in that feature in both the product and the marketing rather than leaving it unlisted.
What it returned
- 1,000
The number one position for micro-saas started as a side effect of writing about building a Shopify app, and the deliberate rework settled into roughly 1,000 impressions and 75 clicks a day, plus a featured snippet on a related term.
Zue's biggest surprise source of Pegasus customers was an article about progress bars in Django and Celery, for which he held the top two Google results for both of those progress bar queries.
Zue added a search feature to Chat Stats partly because searching that chat platform was a popular keyword the site did not yet support.
A blog post with little traffic out-earned nearly every other page on the site, including the homepage.

Three plays a week, for the phase you are in
No roundup of links, no news. Three tactics more than one builder arrived at separately, with the numbers each one returned and the disagreements left in.
