Import the connections users already have
Integrate with a platform that already stores your users' social graph and let new signups pull those connections straight in. The account is populated before the user has done any work, which removes the empty room problem that kills most new social products.
The method
- 01
Build an integration with a platform that already stores your users' social connections, and let new signups pull those connections straight into your app.
What it returned
- 2012
Instagram let users import who they followed on Twitter and post photos back to it before Twitter had image sharing, and became the default service; Hipstamatic offered the same filter experience without the social graph. Twitter revoked Instagram's access to the follow graph in July 2012.
