a single source, nothing corroborates it
Hire out of the audience you already have
Put the role to your own listeners, readers and the expert communities you take part in before touching a job board or a recruiter. It pre-filters for people who already understand the product and share the culture, which is most of what an early hire has to get right.
The method
- 01
Recruit through your own audience. Kahl put the commission based sales role directly to his podcast listeners and newsletter readers.
- 02
Post the role in the expert communities you already participate in before you touch job boards or recruiters. It pre filters applicants for culture fit.
- 03
Recruit customer service and marketing people out of your own customer base. They already speak the language and know the pain better than you do, and Kahl says this worked at FeedbackPanda and at a previous startup.
