Chop the work into tasks a volunteer can realistically complete, give away the objective and stay out of the method. A win-sized task is what brings someone back for the next one, and a failure at that size is cheap enough to answer with teaching rather than a reprimand.

The method

   Chop the work into pieces small enough that whoever accepts one can realistically finish it, then give the pieces away instead of keeping them.

   Delegate the goal but not the method: hand out objectives and stay out of how they get done.

   Size a delegated task so the person gets a win from it, because the taste of one win is what brings them back asking for the next.

4. 04

   Because the delegated pieces are small, a failure lands quickly and cheaply, and everyone else in the group learns from it too, so answer a failed task with teaching rather than a reprimand.
