a single source, nothing corroborates it
Route every shared link through a domain you own
A short link on your own domain is short enough to type, readable enough to say where it goes, and still valid when the destination moves. That last part is the point, because you cannot go back and edit a URL already posted in a hundred places.
The method
- 01
Route the links you share through your own short domain with slugs a person can read, so a link is short enough to type out and still says where it goes.
- 02
A link you control can be repointed later, which matters because you cannot go back and edit every place you already posted it.
What it returned
Turned a long Hashnode series URL into pbt.im/markdown-series, and keeps standing slugs such as pbt.im/github, pbt.im/resume and pbt.im/blog.
He notes that the short link stays fixed while its destination can change, and that redirecting an old URL is not always an option.

No roundup of links, no news. Three tactics more than one builder arrived at separately, with the numbers each one returned and the disagreements left in.
