3 builders who never spoke to each other
Charge engagement as the price of a free asset
Set the cost of something you already wrote at a like, a keyword comment and a follow, then deliver it privately. Engagement is the toll the platform charges for distribution, a short preview of the asset is what makes people pay it, and routing delivery through a checkout keeps the email address. Repeat it rarely, since existing followers tire of it faster than new ones arrive.
The method
- 01
Set the price of the gated asset as a like, a comment with a keyword and a follow, then deliver it by direct message, which buys engagement and followers in the same move.
- 02
Show a short video preview of the gated asset in the post so people can see what they are trading their engagement for.
- 03
Lead with the biggest number you have earned the right to quote, then offer the asset behind it as a gated download.
- 04
Run a giveaway where the prize is a resource you wrote and the entry is engagement with the post, because the engagement is what makes the algorithm distribute it.
- 05
Run a giveaway on X where the prize is something genuinely useful, and hand it over through Gumroad so you keep the entrants' email addresses to contact later.
What it returned
- 276
Nick Verity, working from 276 followers, opened with a tally of 153,000 calls booked via LinkedIn dating back to 2019, then offered his seven best outreach scripts.
- 819
One giveaway of a build-and-launch guide drew 819 comments, 484 likes, 344 bookmarks and 96k views, and added over 400 followers in a couple of days.
Verity asked readers to like, comment the word send and follow him before he would DM the swipe file.
Verity included a brief trailer of the swipe file, which Welsh says is what made him want it.

Three plays a week, for the phase you are in
No roundup of links, no news. Three tactics more than one builder arrived at separately, with the numbers each one returned and the disagreements left in.
