Give several different reasons to pick you

One buyer moves on price, the next on a single feature, the next on support or on reputation, so a page resting on one argument converts only the slice that happens to care about it. Name the whole bundle you are really selling, including the parts that are easy to leave out, such as reliability earned over years, sensible defaults and being able to reach a person.

The method

  1. 01

Stack several distinct reasons to choose you in your messaging rather than resting on one, since different buyers weigh price, support, a specific feature, packaging or reputation differently.

  2. 02

Give buyers emotional reasons alongside practical ones: that their peers use it, that the founders' story appeals, or that the company shares their values.

  3. 03

Sell the things beyond speed that a buyer is actually paying for: dependability from long use, embedded best practices, and access to you for support.

What it returned

  • $19

Justin's examples include a price line offering unlimited podcasts at $19 a month, a feature line about automatic posting of podcasts to YouTube, Ugmonk's giftable packaging, and Cloudflare's reputation for making sites faster.

  • Justin's examples include Jack and Paul bootstrapping an analytics company against Google, and a positioning line about standing up to big tech.

  • Zue lists speed, dependability, best practices and support as the four problems his boilerplate solves, arguing the combination amounts to selling peace of mind.
