2 builders who never spoke to each other
Relaunch on every major release
Two builders treat the platform as a recurring channel rather than a single event: one listed a Slack bot and its siblings repeatedly across two years and kept collecting users, the other has relaunched the same product through versions and years. A significant rewrite counts as a launch, and pinning a big version to the anniversary of the first gives the release a story. The repeat appearances also build standing in the community that pays off next time.
The method
- 01
Launch on Product Hunt more than once. Each new product or major release is another launch, and the later ones still bring users.
- 02
Launching repeatedly on one platform builds standing inside that community which keeps paying off on later releases.
- 03
The same product can be relaunched on Product Hunt across years, and pinning a big version to the anniversary of the first launch gives the release a story.
- 04
Treat a major rewrite as a fresh launch and post it to Product Hunt again rather than shipping it quietly to existing users.
What it returned
- 5
Nomad List 5 shipped five years to the day after the first version went up.
Standuply and its related Slack bots were launched on Product Hunt many times over two years. The first brought the earliest users and subsequent ones kept adding more.
Named Product Hunt Maker of the Year for a second time.
Version three of Nomad List was posted to Product Hunt as its own launch.
